Many things about you will change over time, but your temperament is inborn and unchanging throughout your life, though outside factors can certainly influence it. Your temperament is a characteristic of the soul; it is your unique way of interacting with and asserting yourself in the world around you. There are five different temperament types:

a. Choleric

b. Melancholic

c. Sanguine

d. Phlegmatic

e. Supine

With the APS temperament assessment, you can discover which temperament God gave you and how you can use this knowledge to flourish in your gifts and overcome your weaknesses. Using this assessment as a tool, we focus on discovering the underlying cause for many of the challenges you face.

It is important to understand that temperament is not a determinant that prevents your growth in any area of life; with grace and effort, all things are possible.  Nor is temperament assessment a way of labeling you or “putting you into a box.”  You are a unique and unrepeatable person made in the Image of God, and the mystery of “you” can never be exhausted.  God does, however, create in an orderly fashion. Categories within creation help us to understand the nature of a thing (or animal, or person) and with understanding comes power. Identifying your temperament and the strengths that come with it is the perfect first step to living a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
